I made the following cake for my brother-in-law's birthday. He is passionate about two things, his coffee and his AFL team, Carlton. As an Essendon supporter it would have been a sin to create a Carlton cake, so he got a coffee cake instead! The cake inside was caramel mud cake covered in a dark chocolate ganache, covered in fondant. The cup was modelled on his preferred coffee brand, Gloria Jeans.
I was really happy with how this turned out as it was a last minute cake, the only thing I'd do differently next time is make it 1 cake taller (there are 3 small cakes used in this one), just to made the dimensions a bit more realistic.

I was oncall for work this weekend, which basically meant that I couldn't leave the house in case the phone rang and someone needed my help. So I put my time to good use and made up these samples for potential clients. Because they are only samples, I made two of the cakes as single tier only but both of these designs could easily extend to a multi-tier wedding cake.

I made this cupcake bouquet as a thank you gift for the two photographers that take my cake photos. It was a basic cupcake mix with around 12 cupcakes. The cupcakes were fixed to a styrofoam ball within a flower pot. This was my first attempt at a cupcake bouquet and I was thrilled at the result.

This caramel mud cake was made for a friend's father who loves his soccer and Sydney FC. This was a lot harder to make then I thought it would be, lining up the hexagon's on the cake was quite tricky. But I'm pretty happy with the outcome, I thought the logo came out really well and loved using my new airbrush to add some shine to the ball.

This week I had the pleasure of making the birthday cake for a friends son's 5th birthday. Josh was having a magic themed party, complete with a real magician so I decided to stick with the theme and create a cake with magicians hat, rabbit and wand. The base cake was chocolate mud cake, the hat was butter cake and there was also some buttercake cupcakes I made with the leftover mix. The actual day was sweltering hot but the cake handled it well and the party was great fun.
