This couple really wanted something different for their engagement cake. We went through a lot of different designs and eventually settled on this one. This cake was a 2 tier double-barrel (were each tier is actually 2 cakes instead of 1) white chocolate mud cake.
The design on the side was created by the groom-to-be and scanned and emailed to me. I then recreated this on the side of the cake with a combination of hand painting and thin rolls of icing to provide outline and definition.
I really loved doing this design (although hand painting on a cake is slightly terrifying as there is no margin for error!)

This cake was made to celebrate a bride-to-be's kitchen tea. Her sister had seen a similar cake that I had brought into work and insisted that she surprise her sister with one that looked like a bride.

This cake was a surprise cake for 2 dear friends of mine who have been together for over 10 years. Brett surprised us all by popping the question to Leanne whilst on an New Zealand holiday. I had the spare keys to their house so surprised them by having this cake waiting for them when they arrived home. The camera and the album were both cherry ripe mud cake and the flash actaully flashed. I heard that Leanne got quite the surprise walking into the house to find something flashing on the kitchen counter!

This order was for Melissa and Phil's engagement. They couldn't decide on flavours so they has a 12" white chocolate mudcake, 20 dark choc-mint cupcakes and 20 dark cherryripe cupcakes. I used a chocolate ganache buttercream on the cupcakes, topped with fondant and decorations.  I really enjoyed the challenge of making so many different cupcakes and think the overall effect looks pretty cool, although I may be a bit bias!
